ELECTRONIC MUSIC HISTORY:
Electronic music was an umbrella term for several styles of music that developed in the time. Electronic music is known for implementing new age technology in their music and generally follows the same composition:

Techno was another style of EDM that developed in Detroit during the late 80s and melted African American music including Chicago house, funk, and electronic jazz. Trance music is another genre that fuses styles like techno and house, and the term itself refers to a state of hypnotism.
